Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actor from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic family. Jacqueline's dad Elroy Fernandez is Sri Lankan. There are two older brothers and two younger brothers. Parents have moved to Bahrain in 1980s due to the Lankan civil unrest and hence her birth and education were in Bahrain. She was given a scholarship to attend in the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia following the completion of her schooling in Bahrain. In order to further her love of the world of languages, cultures and languages, she was enrolled at the Berlitz schools of languages in order to master Spanish and also improve her French and Arabic. In 2006, she won Miss Sri Lanka. Miss Sri Lanka for Miss Universe 2006 in March 2006 and also competed at Miss Universe 2006. After winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone started her career in the world of television. She hosted the show Lanka Business Report which focused on business in Sri Lanka. Padukone is the child of of badminton champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew her life in Bangalore and came from Copenhagen. When she was in her teens she played in badminton championships at national and international levels. But, she resigned from the game to make a profession as designer. Padukone has Mangalorean roots and speaks Konkani as her primary language. Padukone is located within the Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi located in Karnataka State in India is where her ancestry originates. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend who retired in the 1980s. Her mother, a travel agency also comes from this area.
